aespa Drops Explosive ‘Dirty Work’ Single, Redefining Their ‘Metallic’ Edge

K-pop trailblazers aespa are back with their new single Dirty Work, slated for release on June 27, 2025, at 1 p.m. KST. The three-track project, featuring the title song, its English version, and an instrumental, amplifies aespa’s futuristic “KWANGYA” universe with a gritty, industrial flair. A June 5 teaser showcasing molten metal forming the Dirty Work logo set the tone, igniting fan excitement for the group’s latest sonic evolution.

The Dirty Work performance video, shot entirely on the iPhone 16 Pro, doubles as a visual spectacle and a tech flex for Apple’s “Shot on iPhone” campaign. Utilizing 4K120 slo-mo, the video captures aespa’s electrifying choreography in a stark factory setting, highlighting their iconic “killing part” moments. This marks Apple’s third Korean project, following Park Chan-wook’s Life Is But a Dream and NewJeans’ ETA. Originally intended for aespa’s scrapped U.S. debut album, Dirty Work now shines as a standalone single, showcasing the group’s genre-defying artistry.

Riding high off 2024’s Armageddon and Whiplash, aespa continues to dominate global charts. At the recent Golden Disc Awards, the quartet teased a packed 2025 schedule, promising more boundary-pushing releases. With Dirty Work, aespa is set to solidify their reign as K-pop’s most innovative act.
