As of April 2025, BTS has surpassed 1.28 billion streams, becoming the first K-pop act to achieve this milestone. This achievement comes despite the group being on hiatus, with several members currently fulfilling their mandatory military service.

Jin and J-Hope have completed their military service and are focusing on solo projects. RM and V are expected to return by June 10, while Jimin and Jungkook are scheduled for discharge on June 11, and Suga will return on June 21. The group is expected to reunite in mid-June for full group activities.

BTS’s last full album, Proof, was released in 2022, and since then, members have concentrated on solo endeavors. Jin is set to release his second mini-album Echo in May and will embark on a solo tour from June to August. J-Hope is currently on his HOPE ON THE STAGE 2025 world tour.

This record-breaking achievement is attributed to the consistent support from BTS’s global fanbase, ARMY, who continue to stream the group’s music through various platforms. Fans have shared celebratory messages on social media, expressing their pride in the group's success.

Additionally, BTS was named the most popular Korean artist for seven consecutive years in the 2025 Global Hallyu Survey, further highlighting their continued influence and global presence.
