Kpop group ENHYPEN has revealed a bold and mysterious new concept that places them in a surreal, game-inspired setting.
At midnight on May 21, the group released the final concept photos for their upcoming sixth mini album, ‘DESIRE : UNLEASH’, via their official social media channels.
Titled the ‘ENGENE’ version, this concept is dedicated to their fans and presents ENHYPEN members as vampire test subjects trapped in a chilling lab environment.
The visuals create an eerie atmosphere.
The members are seen performing cryptic actions in a sterile, cold laboratory, exuding a sense of mystery with their vacant expressions and cold stares.
The theme is brought to life through cinematic visuals that resemble scenes from a classic horror video game.
Alongside the photos, a concept film was also released.
Styled like a retro horror game, the video follows a fictional story where a researcher encounters the members, portrayed as test subjects, and attempts to escape with them.
Game-like interface elements such as control keys and item menus enhance the immersive experience.
To further engage fans, ENHYPEN is also launching a web-based promotional game based on the ‘ENGENE’ concept.
According to their agency BELIFT LAB, the mini-game will be made available at noon on May 21.
Teasers hinting at the project, including an image with the phrase "ENHYPEN ESCAPE," had already piqued fans' curiosity a day earlier.
Earlier concepts titled ‘MAKE’, ‘YOU’, and ‘MINE’ were unveiled as part of this album’s release cycle, each exploring the overarching theme of “desire” from different emotional angles.
The full tracklist and album preview will be released on May 22 and 23, respectively, ahead of the official album drop on June 5.
